SPRINGDALE, Wash. - A van sought in connection with an AMBER Alert was found Monday in Stevens County, but the Washington State Patrol was still searching for two missing children and their father.

The children, 4-year-old Remi Baugher and 2-year-old Lars Baugher, are the subjects of a statewide AMBER Alert issued Saturday in Walla Walla. They are believed to be with their biological father, John Baugher, 34, who has been having mental health problems. The children are therefore considered to be in danger.

According to tips authorities have received from the public, the two children and their father were reportedly seen in Missoula, Montana, Tuesday at a fast food restaurant.

The FBI apparently told the Missoula County Sheriff's Office that an ATM card belonging to the father, John Baugher, was used at an ATM near the Missoula airport.

The tips say 4-year-old Remi Baugher and her 2-year-old brother Lars both reportedly had shorter hair than when they disappeared. The man with them had several days' growth of beard.

Lars and Remi Baugher were taken by their father Saturday, and 34-year-old John Baugher's van was found abandoned in Stevens County, Washington Monday.

Police searching for the two missing children say they found some clues to work with inside their father's van found abandoned in northeastern Washington.

Police found Baugher's empty Volkswagen van on Highway 231 near the town of Ford in Stevens County on Monday, but Baugher and his two children were still nowhere to be found.

Washington State Patrol says because of Baugher's recent mental health issues, the two children are believed to be in immediate danger.

John Baugher, 34, is described as Caucasian, with brown hair and green eyes, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 140 lbs.  He was driving a 1978 two-toned brown Volkswagen van with Washington license plate 349 NRK. He is believed to be wearing green Army-colored button-up shirt, gray sweatshirt-type jacket and pants.

Lars Baugher, 2, is described as 2 feet 7 inches tall, 29 lbs. with blonde hair and green eyes. He was wearing a brown or green jacket, blue jeans, and black Converse shoes.
