Hi Brian

Was just reading your item on the “Ring of Fire”.  I am psychic and often pick up on plane crashes, disasters, earthquakes, etc. and for some time now I have been concerned for a while about the “Ring of Fire” area.  Every time I even see the words “ Ring of Fire” in print I feel very uneasy, especially in relation to Japan.

One other place that keeps popping into my mind is the Maldives.  They’re an island chain that I keep thinking about.  I read an article recently that said if global warming persists this chain will disappear under water.  I don’t have a good feeling about what’s going to happen there; I hope they have good evacuation plans set up.

 Valerie

PS:  the information coming through you reminds me very much of the readings of Edgar Cayce (aka “The Sleeping Prophet”) —I’ve read a lot about him & the similarities are striking.  A book recently was published about his early life, you might find it interesting.  Wish I could remember the exact title of the book, it’s at home and I’m at work now!

reply

Hi, thanks for the information, have not read any of his books, but I do plan on it soon

Huge Quake Rattles Russian Hinterlands

Apr 20, 11:33 PM (ET)

By MIKE ECKEL

MOSCOW (AP) - A 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit a distant, sparsely populated region of Russia's Far East on Friday, and there were reports in at least one coastal village of minor injuries and damaged buildings - including schools and a hospital.

The quake hit at around 12:30 p.m. local time in the Koryak region, nearly 4,350 miles east of Moscow and some 625 miles north of the largest city in the area Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, said Oleg Kotosanov, a duty officer with the regional emergency situations ministry.

The U.S. Geological Survey and Japan's Meteorological Agency estimated the quake's magnitude at 7.7. There were numerous aftershocks ranging from magnitude 4.5 to 5.4.

Kotosanov told The Associated Press by phone that there were reports of damage in some villages in the Pacific region, and that emergency officials were flying by helicopter to several locations. Federal emergency officials in Moscow said they had no information about the quake.

Russian news agencies said buildings had been damaged in the coastal village of Tilichiki, including schools, a hospital and an airport. The agencies said there were also some minor injuries in the village, which has a population of about 2,000.

Russia's north Pacific coast sits along a major tectonic plate and is frequently hit by earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

"It's the largest event in this area since 1900," A.B. Wade, a spokeswoman for the USGS, told the AP. "It's a sparsely populated area; up to 2,000 people were exposed to intensive shaking."

By comparison, the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906, which destroyed more than half of the city's buildings and left between 3,000 and 6,000 people dead 100 years ago this week, was estimated at a magnitude of between 7.7 and 7.9.

The Russian quake, centered about 30 miles below the surface, posed no tsunami risk to the western United States and Canada, according to the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center.

(CNN) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 jolted Russia's northern Kamchatka Peninsula on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

There were no immediate reports of injury.

Oleg Kotosanov, a duty officer with the regional emergency situations ministry, told The Associated Press that there were reports of damage in some villages and that officials were traveling by helicopter to the region.

The temblor struck at 12:25 p.m. Friday (7:25 p.m. Thursday ET), the USGS reported. Its epicenter was 125 miles (200 kilometers) northeast of Il'pyrskiy, Russia, and nearly 4,000 miles north-northeast of Moscow.

The quake's depth was recorded at a relatively shallow 26.7 miles, said Bruce Presgrave, a USGS geophysicist in Golden, Colorado.

He estimated that some 2,000 people lived close enough to the epicenter to have felt it "really strongly." Il'pyrskiy has only a few hundred residents.

In addition, the time of the quake -- shortly after noon -- means few people would have been caught unawares as they slept, he said.

Presgrave said USGS records indicated the quake was "the largest quake on record, since at least 1900, in this general area."

At 7.7, it was more powerful than the 7.6 magnitude quake that killed more than 73,000 people last October in Pakistan. (Full story)

"Quakes of this size, in populated areas, can be just devastating," Presgrave said.

The USGS considers earthquakes with a magnitude greater than 7 to be major earthquakes. However, authorities said there was no danger of a tsunami on the West Coast of the United States.

"As long as it's on land, it's not going to produce a tsunami," said Doug Christensen, a geophysicist at the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. "It has to be on water."

He said about 20 earthquakes of magnitude 7 or greater occur globally each year. Only about one of magnitude 8 or greater occurs annually.

Il'pyrskiy is about 1,000 miles west of the central Alaskan mainland coast.

Quake jolts eastern Japan

From: Agence France-Presse From correspondents in Tokyo

April 21, 2006

AN earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale rocked eastern Japan early today but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

The quake jolted the Izu Peninsula and Tokyo at 2.50am (3.50am AEST), the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

Its focus was about 10 kilometres below the Pacific Ocean, east of the peninsula, Kyodo News reported the agency as saying.

A weaker tremor with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9 occurred in the same area 16 minutes later. No tsunami warnings were issued.

Japan, which lies at the junction of four tectonic plates, has about 20 per cent of the world's powerful earthquakes, frequently jolting Tokyo and other major cities.

Tsunami warnings lifted after massive quake off Tonga

< src=http://www.briansprediction.com/pri/remote82.jpg border=0 width=220 height=168>

Wednesday, May 3, 2006; Posted: 2:48 p.m. EDT (18:48 GMT)

Wednesday, May 3, 2006; Posted: 2:48 p.m. EDT (18:48 GMT)

CNN) -- All tsunami warnings issued after a major quake in the southern Pacific Ocean have been canceled, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The alerts for the southwestern Pacific Islands were issued early Thursday (local time) after an earthquake measuring about 7.8 in magnitude shook the region.

The quake's epicenter was about 153 kilometers (95 miles) off the coast of Tonga, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It struck Thursday at 4:26 a.m. in Tonga (Wednesday at 1526 GMT).

The USGS said it issued the warning "based only on the earthquake evaluation."

Paula Chipman, an American tourist in Tonga's capital, Nukualofa, called it "a major, major shaker" and said it was impossible to assess the damage on the island because it was still dark.

"We felt it. We felt it huge," she said.

One guest at her hotel hurt his foot when he jumped from a balcony to get out, Chipman said.

"Everybody was bailing out of the building," she said.

Chipman said the area around her hotel was without power in the early morning darkness, except for several hotels -- including hers -- which were apparently running on back-up generators. Guests had heard "absolutely nothing, zero" from authorities on the island in the aftermath of the quake.

On the island of Fiji, to the west of Tonga, several people reported no damage. One local journalist said he felt a tremor, but said the local seismologists had recorded a much weaker quake.

David Applegate, senior science adviser for the USGS, said the earthquake was likely to affect only "a relatively small population."

"So far, we've got five responses in four city areas on the islands of Tonga, with intensities ranging from fairly light shaking up to very strong shaking," Applegate said.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued alerts for the islands of Tonga, Niue, American Samoa, Samoa, Fiji and Wallis-Futuna.

The center's most recent report said a tsunami could have begun to affect the islands as early as Wednesday afternoon.

An earlier warning for New Zealand was canceled, and an advisory for the Hawaiian Islands said only that coastal areas might experience "small sea-level changes."

Applegate said the magnitude of the quake was larger than the 1989 temblor that struck the San Francisco Bay area, but "considerably smaller" than the December 24, 2004, quake off the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

That quake -- with a magnitude of 9.0 -- triggered a massive tsunami that spread across the Indian Ocean, killing more than 200,000 people in a dozen countries.

"This is still a large earthquake, but it's not the kind of monster that we saw off Sumatra," he said.

5.10.2006

Hmmmn, now when do you think that CA quake will hit? Any idea where?

reply

I'm expecting small earthquakes (2-4 mag) to occur everyday now starting from EVENT #4, slowly traveling down the ring of fire until they reach the San Francisco Bay Area, EVENT #5,  this one will be a magnitude of 8.2 and should happen in a few weeks.  As the date gets closer I should be able to predict the exact time of the quake like I have with events 1-4.  I'm almost certain that quake magnitudes of my earthquake predictions will not change.

After Event #5 occurs, I expect to see another smaller earthquake of magnitude 7.9 around the Los Angeles, California area a week or so later...I do not expect Event #6 to happen for a few months.

Thanks,

Brian

I have to be skeptical in my line of work, but today you have proved to me that you are for real.  We are planning on making an announcement in a few days about the potential for a great quake in the San Francisco in the following months, this is based on the latest ground stress models we are using, and not your predictions.  Can you please give me a call, I would like to discuss a few matters with you in private.

Lava begins flowing down slopes of Indonesia’s Merapi volcano
(AP)

JAKARTA, Indonesia - Red-hot lava began flowing from the crater of
Indonesia’s rumbling volcano Mount Merapi early Thursday as
vulcanologists warned residents to heighten their alert because an
eruption may be imminent.

Burning streams of molten lava started pouring down the slopes at 2 a.m.
local time (1900 GMT Wednesday), said the head of the volcano’s
monitoring office, indicating a possible eruption.

Residents still near the 2,957-meter (9,700-foot) peak were urged to
leave immediately, even though officials said they were not yet raising
the alert to the highest level.

“The volcano has shown significantly more activity,” said Subandriyo,
the chief of Merapi’s Volcanology and Monitoring offices, who goes by a
single name.

The mountain, one of Indonesia’s most active, remained a “phase two” _
volcano, he said. Phase two is the second highest of four levels of
volcanic activity, with phase one the highest level.

Merapi is one of at least 129 active volcanoes in Indonesia, part of the
Pacific “Ring of Fire” _ a series of fault lines stretching from the
Western Hemisphere through Japan and Southeast Asia.

It last erupted in 1994, sending out a searing cloud of gas that burned
60 people to death. About 1,300 people were killed when it erupted in 1930.

SWARM OF 30 MICRO QUAKES IN WEST USA IN 48 HOURS

Posted By: midnight_falls <Send E-Mail>
Date: Friday, 19 May 2006, 12:39 p.m.

Are they scanning for weak spots before the big bang in Nevada on June a few years ago. This feeling is like a 12 on the Richter Scale of 2 or is this the begining of something else?... Maybe both. Not to mention the feeling I woke up to this morning that some very awesome, mind numbing and ominous event is soon to occur... this that I feel is far, far bigger than what occured with the feeling I got before the tsunami ominous feelings I've gotten so far. This is on a level that makes things like Katrina, the Indian Ocean Tsunami, and 9/11 not have any meaning anymore... When it happens you will know what I mean by that. Now I know what what the man felt that told me it wouldn't matter if people found out what is coming or not. I asked him why not. He said "Because it wouldn't save their lives anyway." I sense that it will take a lot more than pain pills and stockpiles of food to get through whatever is waiting for us. Either way this is a sign on the road to somewhere we have never been before...that I guarantee.

The 6.0-magnitude quake that struck at 8.11pm (AEST) was centred about
190km west of Papua's capital Jayapura, said Slamet Suyitno Rahardjo of
the local Meteorology and Geophysics Agency.

He said the quake's epicentre was about 40km beneath the ground, and it
had strongly jolted Sarmi, a coast district town, and Jayapura.

"Many residents in Sarmi had fled their houses in panic," Rahardjo said
from his office in Jayapura, about 3800km northeast of Jakarta. "We hope
they have returned home because the quake did not trigger any tsunami."

Sarmi, on the northern coast of the island, is about 250km northwest of
Jayapura.

Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago, is prone to seismic upheaval
due to its location on the so-called Pacific "Ring of Fire", an arc of
volcanoes and fault lines encircling the Pacific Basin.

Hi Brian...

this is in relation to the post you made on May 13, 2006. I'll quote:

5.10.2006: Event #4 has happened!! Right on time and it was verified as a magnitude 6.5 off the coast of Alaska.

WARNING:  Event #5 is next may happen at any time, although there will be signs before this event.  There will be many small earthquakes (2-3 in magnitutude) starting from my Event #4 location.  These earthquakes will slowly move down the Ring of Fire Map until reaching the San Francisco Bay area, at this point, Event #5 will happen...then less than 1 week later...except event #5.5 to happen less than 1 week later.

And take a look at todays IRIS:

And this:

UPDATE time = Wed May 24 19:05:10 UTC 2006

Just like you said, a bunch of little earthquakes all around the ring of fire. There seem to be a flurry of them. I am aware the New Moon is approaching as well.

Hi again Brian,

The “Ring of Fire” theory has reared it’s head again in the news media with this latest quake.

For your information only, I have included the news below for reference.

I am a believer  and I am certain the world will be too.

sarge, I am looking for the dream to place this with it. You had some dream I think it was about a quake in Eureka and in Calif we have a Eureka up north and there has been 5 quakes there in the past 24 and some in the 3 plus range.. Maybe the prelude to the big one..??

Southern San Andreas fault waiting to explode
Expert believes Los Angeles area at risk for massive earthquake

Updated: 8:07 a.m. HT June 21, 2006

LONDON - The southern end of the San Andreas fault near Los Angeles, which has been still for more than two centuries, is under immense stress and could produce a massive earthquake at any moment, a scientist said Wednesday.

Yuri Fialko, of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at La Jolla, Calif., said that given average annual movement rates in other areas of the fault, there could be enough pent-up energy in the southern end to trigger a cataclysmic jolt of up to 32 feet (10 meters).

"The observed strain rates confirm that the southern section of the San Andreas fault may be approaching the end of the interseismic phase of the earthquake cycle," he wrote in the  journal Nature

A sudden lateral movement of 23 to 32 feet (7 to 10 meters) would be among the largest ever recorded.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake that destroyed San Francisco in 1906 was produced by a sudden movement of the northern end of the fault of up to 21 feet (6.4 meters).

Fialko said there had been no recorded movement at the southern end of the fault — the 800-mile-long (1,280-kilometer-long) geological meeting point of the Pacific and the North American tectonic plates — since the dawn of European settlement in the area.

He said this lack of movement for 250 years correlated with the predicted gaps between major earthquakes at the southern end of the fault of between 200 and 300 years.

Elsewhere on the fault, there were average slippage rates up to a couple of centimeters a year that prevented the build-up of explosive pressure deep underground.

When these became blocked and then suddenly broke free, they produced tremors or earthquakes of varying intensity depending on the movement that had taken place before and the duration of the blockage.

USGS says the most recent major earthquakes in the northern and central zones of the San Andreas fault were in 1857 and 1906.

Three possible explanations
Fialko said there were three possible explanations for the lack of observed movement in the southern section: creepage under the surface that had no external manifestation, a scenario in which the section simply doesn't not move as much as the rest of the section, or a major blockage.

"Except for the first possibility above, the continued quiescence increases the likelihood of a future event," he wrote.

Making calculations based on a wide range of land and satellite observations, he discounted the idea of creepage and warned of impending disaster.

"Regardless of fault geometry and mechanical properties of the ambient crust, results presented in this study lend support to intermediate-term forecasts of a high probability of major earthquakes on the southern SAF system," Fialko said.

Mount St. Helens Climbing To Resume On July 21, 2005

UPDATEd: 07 July 2006 - Mount St. Helens is currently closed to climbing due to volcanic activity.

Forest Service and Mount St. Helens Institute officials announce the reopening of the new climbing reservation system and the planned reopening of the volcano to climbing on July 21, 2006.

Mount St. Helens climbing permits will be sold on the Internet on a first-come, first-served basis by the Mount St. Helens Institute, a non-profit partner of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest starting July 13, 2006. A permit fee of $15 plus a service charge of $7 per person is charged for a one day permit (valid for 24 hours beginning midnight on the permit date). Total cost per permit is $22. The $15 permit fee will be used by the Forest Service to manage the climbing program, and maintain roads and facilities. The $7 service charge will be used by the Mount St. Helens Institute to fund permit processing and to help support the Mount St. Helens climbing program through educational and resource management programs. Climbing permits are required year-round to climb above 4800 feet elevation. Between July 21 and October 31, climbing is limited to 100 climbers per day. Maximum party size is 12 persons.

More information will become available here beginning July 13, 2006.
