Hi Sharon,

An earthquake only affects us humans, and the structures we build.  I do not think they need to evacuate anyone very far...just have designated areas in parks, parking lots, aqueducts or whatever away from structures that will cause injury or loss of life.  I certainly hope local authorities already had this plan in place, if not, they need to plan for this right now.

This is how it should work...a siren goes off, cell phones ring, email alerts, tv broadcast or whatever,  and everyone goes to a preplanned location.    Like a tornado drill in schools...and practice this alert several times a year.

I do not know what sort of plan San Francisco and Los Angeles have, but I'm sure it's something similar to what I have just mentioned.  And if they don't, I guess they need to hire me...and do not come cheep :)

Anyone can survive any magnitude quake if they are not surrounded by manmade objects...just sit down.

Brian

Thank you Leslie, for clearing up the slow update in Washington. Now it makes sense. You're right that machines tend to quit working when we aren't looking, and it figures, just like Murphy's law.

Subject: Pinpoint-News-- Re: Mt Rainier

This is not the first time I've seen the maps at pnsn.org site (Pac NW Seismic Network) fail to update over the weekend...I think it started when St Helens kicked back into gear and the seismograms were getting flooded with little EQs - they started some kind of  human filtering and they're still doing it. Unfortunately, humans tend to take weekends off, unlike computers. In my experience, tho, network servers also seem to like to quit working on weekends, when their humans are away... which is the other possibility for the errant map.

from Seattle Times:

Quake near Mount Rainier registers 4.5; no damage reports

A light to moderate earthquake was widely felt in Western Washington about 7:45 p.m. Saturday. Police in Pierce, Snohomish and Pierce counties had no reports of injuries or damage.

The magnitude-4.5 quake was centered 17 miles north of Packwood, Lewis County, or about eight miles east of the Mount Rainier summit, said Tom Yelin, a geophysicist at the University of Washington seismology laboratory

Yelin said the quake's size was relatively uncommon for Western Washington and that the quake was about 2 miles deep. He said it probably was not related to volcanic activity on Mount Rainier.

There were two small aftershocks late Saturday, and Yelin said small aftershocks could continue for a few days but likely would not be felt.

Tectonic Summary

EARTHQUAKES IN THE EASTERN TENNESSEE SEISMIC ZONE

The Eastern Tennessee seismic zone extends across Tennessee and northwestern Lucida Grande into northeastern Alabama. It is one of the most active earthquake areas in the Southeast. Although the zone is not known to have had a large earthquake, a few earthquakes in the zone have caused slight damage. The largest known (magnitude 4.6) occurred on April 29, 2003, near Fort Payne, Alabama. Earthquakes too small to cause damage are felt about once a year. Earthquakes too small to be felt are abundant in the seismic zone, and seismographs have recorded hundreds of them in recent decades.

Earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S., although less frequent than in the western U.S., are typically felt over a much broader region. East of the Rockies, an earthquake can be felt over an area as much as ten times larger than a similar magnitude earthquake on the west coast. A magnitude 4.0 eastern U.S. earthquake typically can be felt at many places as far as 100 km (60 mi) from where it occurred, and it infrequently causes damage near its source. A magnitude 5.5 eastern U.S. earthquake usually can be felt as far as 500 km (300 mi) from where it occurred, and sometimes causes damage as far away as 40 km (25 mi).

FAULTS
Earthquakes everywhere occur on faults within bedrock, usually miles deep. Most of eastern Tennessee's bedrock originated several hundred million years ago, as the Appalachian Mountains were formed.

At well-studied plate boundaries like the San Andreas fault system in California, often scientists can determine the name of the specific fault that is responsible for an earthquake. In contrast, east of the Rocky Mountains this is rarely the case. The Eastern Tennessee seismic zone is far from the nearest plate boundaries, which are in the center of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Caribbean Sea. The Eastern Tennessee seismic zone is laced with known faults but numerous smaller or deeply buried faults remain undetected. Even the known faults are poorly located at earthquake depths. Accordingly, few, if any, earthquakes in the Eastern Tennessee seismic zone can be linked to named faults. It is difficult to determine if a known fault is still active and could slip and cause an earthquake. As in most other areas east of the Rockies, the best guide to earthquake hazards in the seismic zone is the earthquakes themselves.

dear brian,
months ago after the last java earthquake, there was a prediction by an
indonesian psychic and her name is Mama Lauren, and she said that there will
be a big, big earthquake happening in Jakarta in November. not sure if it's
an earthquake or not, but she says that the Krakatoa Volcano will blast off
too. please, i'm not a psycho like you, but i have higher intuition than
usual people and i am really scared about this. usually i did not care about
predictions and stuff, but i think i can trust you, so please, can you
predict what will happen to Jakarta? is Mama Lauren's prediction correct or
not? (lots of her predictions were correct, but I trust you more) because
this city is my hometown, my birthplace, the place where everyone that i
loved lives. please brian, you're the only psychic that i can trust! you can
save millions of people who lives in Jakarta! and I don't have any money to
pay you because for indonesians dollars can be so expensive and i don't have
any credit cards that i could use to pay via online! one day somehow when i
grew up or when i become richer i promise i'll pay you!

ps: can you please tell me whether this psycho called Sara Freder is a true
psychic or not? because whatever she predicted for me she seems to ask for
money...and her testimonials in her website seems to be bogus...please tell
me if she's really a true psycho or her predictions is correct so i can warn
everybody about her if she's a bogus psycho who always asks for money.

thank you very much, brian!

reply

Hi, I think you meant 'psychic' and not psycho...at least I hope so...no matter...most people think I am a psycho anyway.  And I'm glad you trust me, and you do not need to pay me a dime...ever.   I will do my best to see what's coming, however I do not see anything major in Jakarta.

As far as telling if a person is a psychic or not, I cannot do this, as I'm not even sure if I'm what's considered to be a psychic.

Take Care,

Brian

Brian, is this part of the San Fransisco EQ scenario???

Small Quake Rumbles North Calif. Coast

EUREKA, Calif. (AP) -- A small earthquake about 90 miles off the northern California coast Tuesday generated no reports of damage or injuries, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Department said.

"We didn't feel a thing," said Brenda Godsey, a sheriff's department spokeswoman in Eureka.

The magnitude-4.9 quake's epicenter was located about 260 miles northwest of San Francisco, according to a preliminary report issued by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS said it received reports from people who felt the temblor in the San Francisco Bay area, including San Jose.

Dear Brian,

I was fwded an email regarding your "prediction" of a major earthquake in California, following the 6+ magnitude earthquake in the Hawaiian Islands.  I truly appreciate your attempts to combine your metaphysical knowledge, an insights with historical records to assist in your predictions, and thereby help warn those in danger.

I wish to suggest that you present a cleaner format of your research and conclusions.  I realize that many of your insights come to you METAphysically, and are therefore non-linear in orientation.   However, once you have corroborating, historical evidence, I feel it would be more convincing, and thereby a more potent warning to only present the historical record, with a minimal focus on your dreams, RVs, etc.  Many who could benefit from your warning can unfortunately be confused and discredit your conclusions when presented with the non-linear/Metaphysical evidence that you are receiving.

Thank you for sharing your vision,

Sincerely,

Jay Clark

Hi Jay, I will try my best, and thanks for the advise.

10.23.2006

Hi Brian -

I read this (below) and must say, don't change a thing.  Keep right on doing what you're doing, exactly the way you're doing it.  If anyone has a problem here, it's Jay Clark, not you.  Things come to you in this nonlinear way for a reason.

But then I'm sure you know this already.

It just upset me to read someone's criticism.  I guess that's my problem!  In my opinion, the comment shows how little Jay Clark understands the intuitive process.  I honor the process you're demonstrating here in your website.  I can see that it's real.  To "polish" it or aim it more for a left-brained audience would lose the energy and vitality and immediacy of your work, and may possibly end the connection you have.

If you get dreams saying to change anything, okay, then do so; follow your guidance.  Until then, don't worry about criticism, follow your bliss, not his, and don't bother taking "advice" like this, no matter how well-intentioned it is.  The world needs you, doing what you're doing, just the way you're doing it!!!, not some watered-down, nicened-up version of it.

Susan

reply

Hi Susan...and thanks.  It actually took me sometime to understand what Jay was even trying to say...I welcome all criticism, as long as it's constructive.

Brian,

There was a 4.4 North of SF this AM.

Possibly you could suggest, in your column,

how these small quakes precurse bigger stuff.

We seem to have lost track of your previously suggested

list of precursors, as there have been more of them

than you had initially indicated.

Thanks much for your continuing support.

Hi Michael, not sure how many trigger quake will happen before the 8.2, but I'm waiting for a specific dream that will tell me when this quake will occur.  And will let everyone know.
