KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of at least 4.5 struck off the northwest coast of the Big Island on Thursday in the same area where two stronger temblors struck last month. The quake, centered about 11 miles northwest of Puuanahulu, shook homes on the Big Island, Maui and Oahu, but it did not produce a tsunami threat, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. The U.S. Geological Survey estimated its magnitude at 5.0; the Tsunami Warning Center estimated it at 4.5. It's weird but I've had a feeling for a while now that San Francisco is going to get hit, they're just long over due. In fact my mother was vacationing in Hawaii when the earthquake happened there. She said it was nothing like the one's we've felt near San Diego. I'm up near San Francisco right now. I live about a good hour or so away(east of SF), when it happens how far away from S.F will it be felt?? around the kuril islands being the busiest ever. i have been watching daily
