Strong quake sparks tsunami

A STRONG earthquake with a magnitude of up to 7.0 has hit near Samoa, triggering a tsunami, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has said.

"Sea level readings indicate a tsunami was generated. It may have been destructive along coasts near the earthquake epicentre," the Hawaii-based warning centre said on its website.

The US Geological Survey put the quake's magnitude at 6.7 and said it was centred in the Samoa islands group between Tonga and American Samoa.

It said the quake occurred 43km under the sea floor.

The epicentre was about 195km southeast of Hihifo in the sparsely populated far northern reaches of Tonga and about 290km southwest of Pago Pago in American Samoa.

"No tsunami threat exists for other coastal areas in the Pacific, although some other areas may experience small sea level changes", the tsunami warning centre said.

The situation nearer the epicentre was less certain, it said.

"As local conditions can cause a wide variation in tsunami wave action, the all-clear determination must be made by local authorities," it added.

That decision could only be made when no major waves were observed for two hours after the estimated time of arrival of damaging waves, it said.

The tsunami followed a 7.2-magnitude quake that struck deep beneath the Indian Ocean approximately 240 kilometers (150 miles) southwest of Java's western coast.

A powerful earthquake sent a two-meter (yard) high tsunami crashing into a beach resort on Indonesia's Java island Monday, killing at least five people and damaging hotels and houses. Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono confirmed the casualties in a radio broadcast.

People fled to a nearby hill to escape the wave on Pangandaran beach in west Java, a woman identified as Teti told el-Shinta radio station.

"All the houses are destroyed along the beach,'' she said, adding that at least three people were killed.

The tsunami followed a 7.2-magnitude quake that struck deep beneath the Indian Ocean approximately 240 kilometers (150 miles) southwest of Java's western coast at 3:24 p.m. (0824 GMT), causing tall buildings to sway in the capital Jakarta and at least one other city.

I have begun to note it is not just the “external” (earth changes) which is shifting, but humans as well. Really all living things. Remember, we too have magnetic fields which surround each of us. I think it is not unrealistic whatsoever to conjecture what is happening “externally” is also happening “internally”.

Tsunami predicted for 1st April 2007

The teachings of Jesus show us that we must sell our possessions, give the money to the poor, then follow him; a teaching seen as foolish even by most church-going Christians. In general, people do not follow this teaching. The result is that for every person in rich Western society, there is someone in the world living on less than the equivalent of $1 (50p) a day – about a billion people. A further 1.5 billion live on less than $2 a day, meaning that about half the world’s population is in poverty.

In order to alleviate the suffering of the poor and to provide a means for people to repent from their sins, God has arranged for an end. Plagues are necessary (a) to get the attention of those who would otherwise be apathetic to the plight of the poor, and (b) to begin the destruction of what has resulted from not following Jesus – the products of our own wisdom, the infrastructure of our self-centred capitalist society.

The first of these plagues is a tsunami, predicted to hit the East Coast of the USA on 1st April 2007. This date is significant because (a) it is Palm Sunday, celebrating the return of Jesus to Jerusalem and (b) it is All Fool’s Day. Solomon and wisdom are the number of the beast (see http://www.worldends.co.uk) and foolishness is the opposite of wisdom. As stated above, following the commandments of Jesus is seen as foolish by modern society. Therefore All Fool’s Day is a day of anti-wisdom and destruction of the beast.

Emphasis is placed in the Bible about not knowing when things will happen (Luke 12,40: "And you, too, must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you are not expecting him."). Therefore, because the date is predicted, you can be sure that no one will expect the tsunami to happen on that day (it would be foolish wouldn’t it?).
