Hola from Mexico

I live in Mexico City, today we suffered a strong earthquake 6.0, at 9.30 am
local time, we also had two more replicas of the first quake: 5.2 at 9.38 am
and 4.7 at 11.46 am. Details on usgs website:

Quake rocks Mexico City
No injuries or major damage reported

Saturday, August 12, 2006 Posted: 0713 GMT (1513 HKT)

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- A moderate earthquake rocked Mexico City on
Friday, causing skyscrapers to sway and frightening residents, but emergency
officials said no major damage or injuries were reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey estimated the earthquake had a preliminary
magnitude of 5.9 and struck in Michoacan, 125 miles southwest of the
capital. It was centered four miles northwest of the town of Huetamo and 59
miles below ground. A 5.2-magnitude aftershock hit about eight minutes
later.

Electricity and telephone service did not appear to be interrupted.

Some buildings announced brief evacuations, and hundreds ran into the
streets.

"I was in a small office, and the shelves were moving ... and the walls were
vibrating," said Carlos Avila, 25, an administrative employee at the federal
Public Safety Department.

Sanjeev Patny, a 43-year-old American Express employee, walked down 10
flights of stairs and was waiting for building officials to tell him he
could return to work.

"I felt the tremors, and I didn't know what to do," he said.

The quake was too small and based too far inland to cause a tsunami, the
Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.

Verification from the USGS of the 6.1 in Mexico.   Hmmm.  You have been off by .1 or .2 before.  This would be off by 5.   Are we sure this is the one?

I do believe in the early 90's there was a small quake on the border of Florida/Alabama area, that shook a good bit of northwest Florida.  There is a fault line running under Brewton, Al. and that area all the way over.

Also, there was a underwater event associated with Ivan somewhere farther down from this last one.  You did not hear much about it, but it was on the Internet, and there was a good write up in the Wall Street Journal.  It was reported in the Wall Street Journal that because of that quake, gas and oil in abundance had been discovered, but it's only now that we are beginning to hear it.  There was that 50 foot wave that came right in the bay of Pensacola, Fl. during Ivan, which devastated Scenic Highway and took out the I-10 Bridge.  Lot of homes and Apartments were totally condemned.

While I live in North Mississippi at this time, I was born and raised in Fl., raised 3 children in Pensacola/Pace area, still have family in that area as well as South of Jacksonville, so have interest in Fl.

One thing about Florida, they try to keep any and all bad news out of the media.  They want you to vacation in FLORIDA.  They do not want to talk about earthquakes and what's going on under the Gulf of Mexico.

After Katrina and Rita there were things coming out of the Gulf of Mexico that they could not identify.  The clean up crews in MS. had boots, and they were instructed to put garbage bags over those boots.  There was something that was appearing on shore they identified as deadly.  Other that the workers, which were there even from North MS, the firefighters took turns going down, you are not going to hear those things, because they want you to come to MS. and gamble.

Sorry I went on and on.  Believe me there are things happening in weather related matters that you never hear about.  So much attention has been devoted to New Orleans, and MS., Al., and FL. don't mind, they want you to come vacation and spend your money.

Carolyn

If you check the small quakes in New Madrid Fault, they are pretty constant in MS, MO, AK and TN. area, and have become even more so in the last few years in Alabama.

Brian,

Greetings from your favorite computer geek in Maryland!

Have you considered the connection between DD 3283 (confirmed dream of finding oil in the Gulf of Mexico) and DD 4148 (confirmed fault in Florida)? In the article you posted, they talk about shaking the earth to allow for permeability so the oil basically gets shaken to the top...and in your oil dream it said, "DO NOT USE". Perhaps...just perhaps, this is the reason WHY we shouldn't be drilling for oil in the Gulf.

Interestingly enough, yesterday I had written an email to you that got sucked into the ethers (disappeared) where I speculated the reason why we shouldn't use the newfound oil dealt with the recent finding of CO2 lakes under the East China Sea (National Geographic) made by magma chambers. Magma chambers are usually found where there is high geological movement and activity. I thought it might relate to the New Madrid fault that goes through the heartland of the US. Perhaps I was a little too far west.

It's very fun to "connect the dots" with your dreams and see how everything, no matter how disparate it seems at first glance, is connected. Many philosophies and belief systems are based upon this notion of interconnectedness - heck, quantum physics bases its whole premise upon this concept.

By the by, I have done a lot of reading about Edgar Cayce over the years...fascinating man with a real gift. You are blessed to have contact and support from him. Keep on dreamin' and the rest of us will keep working on the verification part!

Blessings on you & yours.

10/21/99 quakes

9-2-99 - Physicist on Art Bell show states that his prediction for BIG earthquakes will be September 7 through the 11th, based on scientific principles he's been studying a long time.

The following is from the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of 1999 Sep 02, ILLINOIS: latitude 41.7 degrees north, longitude 89.4 degrees west, origin time 16 17 29.7 utc, depth shallow, magnitude 3.5 mbLg. This earthquake was felt at dixon and rockford. There have been no reports of damage.

DIXON, Ill. (AP) - An earthquake rippled through northern Illinois today, shaking pictures off walls and causing some buildings to wobble. Authorities said there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the quake, which occurred at 11:17 a.m. and had a preliminary magnitude of 3.5, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was 10 miles south-southeast of Dixon, about 90 miles west of Chicago.

Some thought the vibration was due to passing trucks. Jane Lovgren, a clerk at the Amboy Pharmacy, also said she didn't feel a thing.

``They're tearing the heck out of the bank next store. They're using a jackhammer, so that's probably why we missed it,'' Lovgren said.

Seth Stein, a professor of geological sciences at Northwestern University, said a light quake occurs about once a year somewhere in the Midwest.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~IS THIS A PRECURSOR?--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Minor earthquake shakes western TennesseeAugust 23, 1999Web posted at: 1:11 PM EDT (1711 GMT)

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Reuters) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 -- strong enough to be felt but not powerful enough to cause damage -- was recorded in northwest Tennessee Monday, the University of Memphis Center for Earthquake Research and Information said.

"We've had reports of minor shaking, furniture moving," said Gary Patterson, a seismologist at the center. He said the earthquake was centered southwest of Ridgely, a village along the Mississippi river, and recorded at 8:12 a.m. EDT.

The area is on the New Madrid fault. Patterson said there were 15 quakes of roughly the same strength along that fault in 1998, but Monday's was the first recorded since July 15 of that year.

The area was rocked by major earthquakes in 1811 and 1812, one of which changed the course of the Mississippi.Copyright 1999 Reuters2-25-992.9 QUAKE HITS MISSISSIPPIHopefully this is not just a precursor to something bigger!2-22-998 TO 9 QUAKE IMMINENTQUAKE OF 1812

This really caught me attention. For the first time, I saw red flashes or dots on my S. Cal. weather map and wondered at them. This morning the news said, "no rain until Sunday" and that was ify. But now there is rain showing in Ventura/Oxnard and a long line of storm clouds coming up from the south and heading right at me.
