This is just a copy of my military service record.

I have been asked several times why I left the military after more than 12 years on active duty...I could have retired just like my dad.

Well, I hope this answers that question:

I loved the 12 years I spent in the Army, liked my job, and liked the palaces that I was stationed.  I made rank quickly and and considered myself a good leader and Non-Commissioned Offers.

However I did not like the fact that I was going have to serve another year in Korea, as the first tour cost me my 1st marriage. (Well, the tour didn't, my ex-wife decided to find additional company while I was gone).

I had just gotten married and was planning a family, and a 12 month hardship tour to South Korea has not what I had in mind for my future.  So I asked my chain of command to let me out, and after six months they did with full honors, and I went from active duty to the Army Reserve.
